View opted-out customers and understand your legal obligations.

1

View your opt-out list

Settings → SMS → Opt-outs. Every customer who replied STOP to one of your messages appears here with the date they opted out.

2

What happens when someone opts out

AlwaysRespond immediately stops all SMS to that number. This applies to confirmation texts, review requests, win-back messages, and payment links. This is permanent until the customer re-opts in.

3

How customers re-opt in

They text START to your AlwaysRespond number. This removes them from the opt-out list and re-enables all messaging.

4

Legal requirement

Under TCPA law, you cannot send marketing SMS to opted-out numbers. Confirmation texts for already-booked services may be permitted, but to be safe AlwaysRespond blocks all SMS types. Do not attempt to manually text opted-out customers.

Frequently asked

Can I remove someone from the opt-out list manually?

No. Only the customer can re-opt in by texting START. Manually overriding opt-outs violates TCPA regulations.

Does opting out affect their bookings?

No. Bookings still work normally. They just won't receive SMS confirmations or follow-ups.
