How SMS confirmations work
What gets sent to customers after a call, when it goes out, and how to customize it.
When does the confirmation send?
The moment a booking is confirmed on the call, the customer automatically receives a text. There is no delay — it fires the instant the AI confirms the appointment.
What the customer receives
The SMS includes: your business name, the booked date and time, the service type, your callback number, and any custom message you've set. Example: 'Thanks for booking with Rivera Plumbing! Your appointment is Thursday, May 2 at 10am. Questions? Call us at (555) 123-4567.'
Customize the message
Go to Settings → AI Receptionist → Confirmation SMS. Edit the template using placeholders: {business_name}, {customer_name}, {service}, {date}, {time}, {phone}.
What you receive
You get a separate SMS with the customer's name, number, service requested, and booked time. This goes to the number in Settings → Notifications.
Frequently asked
Can I turn off confirmation SMS?
You can disable the customer confirmation in Settings → AI Receptionist → Confirmation SMS. Your own notification cannot be turned off.
What if the customer doesn't have a mobile number?
If the number captured is a landline, the SMS will fail silently. The booking still gets created in your dashboard.
