How to connect Stripe for payments
Accept card payments from customers via SMS payment links.
Go to Settings → Payments
In your dashboard, click Settings → Payments. You'll see the Stripe connection panel.
Click Connect Stripe
You'll be redirected to Stripe's onboarding flow. If you already have a Stripe account, sign in. If not, create one — it takes about 5 minutes.
Complete Stripe's onboarding
Stripe will ask for your business details, bank account for payouts, and identity verification. This is required by Stripe, not AlwaysRespond. Complete all steps.
Return to AlwaysRespond
Once Stripe onboarding is complete, you'll be redirected back to your dashboard. The Payments tab will now be active.
Send a test payment
Create a test invoice under Payments → New Invoice, send it to your own phone number, and complete the payment using Stripe's test card (4242 4242 4242 4242) to confirm everything works.

How quickly do payouts arrive?
Stripe deposits funds to your bank account within 2 business days by default. You can enable instant payouts for a small fee.
What does Stripe charge?
Stripe charges 2.9% + 30 cents per successful card transaction. AlwaysRespond does not add any additional fees on top of this.
Can customers pay by cash or check?
Yes. You can mark invoices as paid via cash or check directly in the dashboard. This updates the invoice status without processing through Stripe.
